Fatboy Slim

Though I don't play much of his work any more--at least not his more recent work--in the late 1990s Fatboy Slim (a.k.a. Norman Cook) was among my favorite artists. I found his remix work particularly interesting because he'd managed to put his own distinctive stamp on songs by numerous other artists.

Cook has had a long musical career. At one time a member of the Housemartins, he turned in an increasingly dance-oriented direction, embarking on his Fatboy Slim project after being involved in several collaborative efforts such as Freakpower, Beats International. Other projects have included the Mighty Dub Katz and Pizzaman. In addition, Cook has numerous production credits to his name.
