9:30 Club - D.C.'s preeminent club (see schedule). With a capacity of 1,200, the venue has hosted downtempo artists like Massive Attack, Zero 7, and Thievery Corporation, as well as numerous artists from other genres.

Black Cat - This site for the club on 14th Street NW in D.C. includes a schedule of shows.

Eighteenth Street Lounge - Official website of D.C.'s best-known lounge. Includes a helpful schedule.
       Co-owned by Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation, this Dupont/Midtown-area club features DJs spinning future soul, jazz, Brazilian, and more. Past guest DJs have included Brendan Lynch, Boozoo Bajou, the Amalgamation of Soundz, Kraak & Smaak, Nickodemus and Mariano (of Turntables on the Hudson), Nicola Conte, Osiris, Trüby Trio, Organic Grooves, Gilles Peterson, and the Troublemakers.

U Street Music Hall - Website of the venue that hosts a range of DJ nights and occasional live bands (see schedule).

Tropicalia - Venue oriented toward Brazilian-influenced music, from the Eighteenth Street Lounge family.

Rock and Roll Hotel - Part of D.C.'s H Street NE scene, this venue (see schedule) has hosted artists such as Vashti Bunyan, Asobi Seksu, Thunderball, and Fort Knox Five, as well as a number of local DJs.

Howard Theatre - Newly restored legendary theater, primarily oriented toward R&B and Latin music (see the schedule).

Fillmore Silver Spring - Suburban venue, capacity 2,000. (See the schedule.)

Liv / Bohemian Caverns - Technically, Bohemian Caverns is the jazz-oriented basement, Tap and Parlour (formerly Hominy, formerly Mahogany) is the restaurant at street level, and Liv is the upstairs soul/R&B-oriented club. The website includes a schedule.
